Open Access Policy
Future Journals is a Gold Open Access publisher. All articles published across our 17 journals are freely available online immediately upon publication, without any embargo period.
Our Open Access Commitment
- Immediate Access: All published articles are freely accessible to anyone worldwide, at any time, without registration or payment
- Creative Commons License: All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license
- No Embargo: There are no delayed access or embargo periods for any Future Journals content
- Machine-Readable: Full text is available in structured formats (HTML, PDF, XML) to support text mining and AI research tools
- Author Rights: Authors retain copyright of their work; the CC BY 4.0 license allows broad reuse with attribution
What CC BY 4.0 Means for Your Work
The Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license grants any user the right to: share (copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format) and adapt (remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, even commercially) — provided appropriate credit is given to the original authors, a link to the license is included, and any changes made are clearly indicated.
Article Processing Charges (APC)
As a Gold Open Access publisher, Future Journals operates on an Article Processing Charge (APC) model to cover the costs of peer review management, editorial oversight, XML conversion, DOI registration, and digital archiving. Please see our APC page for current fee schedules and waiver policies.
DOAJ Compliance
Future Journals is in the process of registering all 17 journals with the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ). DOAJ listing is a key quality indicator for open access journals and is required for several indexing databases and funding body mandates.
Preprint Policy
Authors are permitted to post preprint versions of their manuscripts on recognized preprint servers (arXiv, bioRxiv, SSRN, Preprints.org, etc.) before, during, and after submission to Future Journals. Authors should update their preprint with a link to the final published version upon acceptance.
